  • Description

The Menzerna Crater Shaped Lambswool Pad is a genuine lambswool buffing head designed for heavy-duty cutting work on rotary polishing machines. Its crater profile - with a slightly recessed centre and denser outer edge - is built to work aggressively with cutting compounds, helping to remove heavy oxidation, deep scratches and old, degraded gelcoat quickly and evenly. The natural wool fibres generate the friction needed for fast defect removal while remaining gentle enough not to scorch or burn the surface when used correctly. At 230mm (9"), it's sized for full-panel and hull work, making it a popular choice for marine detailers and GRP restoration professionals working through the early, most abrasive stage of a polishing job.

    How to Use

    1. Fit the pad securely to your rotary polisher backing plate/adapter.
    2. Apply a cutting compound (such as Menzerna's heavy-cut range) directly to the pad or surface.
    3. Work the machine at a low-to-moderate speed initially, using firm, even pressure.
    4. Keep the pad moving in overlapping passes to avoid concentrating heat in one spot.
    5. Check progress regularly and reapply compound as the pad begins to dry out.
    6. Clean the pad thoroughly with pad cleaner or warm water once residue starts to build up, and let it dry fully before reuse.
