Clout Nails
Clout nails are the recommended mechanical fixing for securing GRP flat roof trims - particularly drip fascia and raised edge trims - to timber fascia boards and decking edges. While PU adhesive provides the primary bond in most applications, clout nails offer additional mechanical retention during the adhesive cure period and serve as a secondary fixing on trims subject to wind uplift or movement.
Supplied in 1kg bags, these are the standard fixing used alongside PU adhesive throughout the CFS GRP trim range. Using both adhesive and mechanical fixings ensures trims remain correctly positioned and firmly secured throughout the life of the roof. Clout nails are driven through the upper flange of the trim into the timber substrate, typically at 300 - 400mm centres.
