Consolidating rollers are used after resin application to work the resin into the fibreglass mat, remove trapped air bubbles, and ensure full wet-out - one of the most important stages in producing a strong, void-free GRP laminate. A poorly consolidated laminate with trapped air pockets will be significantly weaker and more prone to failure than a correctly consolidated one.
