E280 Expansion Joint 280mm 1.5m Length

The E280 Expansion Joint in 1.5m length is a pre-formed GRP trim designed to divide a flat roof into separate laminate bays while accommodating the thermal and structural movement that occurs between them. On any GRP flat roof of meaningful size, the deck will expand and contract with temperature changes - without a correctly detailed expansion joint at regular intervals, this movement is transferred into the laminate itself, eventually causing cracking or delamination at the weakest points.

The E280 profile features a raised central rib approximately 280mm wide across its bonding flanges, with the rib sitting proud of the roof surface as both a functional movement joint and a visible bay division. The flanged base laminates into the resin on each side of the joint, creating a secure, weathertight connection between the trim and the adjacent roof sections. The 1.5m half length suits smaller roofs, repairs, and layouts where a full 3m length would generate unnecessary waste. Closed at each end using a C5 E280 Expansion Trim Closure (available separately). Fixed with PU adhesive.
