Expansion & Rib Trims

Expansion and rib trims serve two related functions on a flat roof: defining the division between separate bays of laminate, and accommodating thermal or structural movement between those sections without cracking or delaminating the waterproof membrane. On larger roof areas especially, incorporating expansion trims at regular intervals is an important part of a correctly detailed GRP installation.

The E280 profile provides a raised central rib that acts as a visible and functional dividing feature between laminate sections, while the flanged base bonds into each adjacent area of resin. Available in 1.5m and 3m lengths, in light grey GRP, and fixed with PU adhesive. For large commercial or industrial flat roofs, the positioning of expansion trims should be planned at the design stage in line with the roofing system specification.
